This is Reese's answer to the Nestle Butterfinger bar I reviewed a few weeks back.
Its much smaller size wise but still weighs in at a standard 48g. Looks wise the appearance is more like a picnic with nuts sticking out the chocolate coating all over the place.
The bar consists of a crispy peanut butter wafer type centre with a layer of peanut butter ontop, coated in chocolate with whole nuts thrown in for good measure.
This bar is literally bursting with a nutty flavour and unlike the Butterfinger the centre is not half as sweet. The peanut butter flavour that comes through in this bar goes far beyond that of the sugar type centre you get with the comparative Nestle bar. The peanut butter layer and whole nuts in the chocolate coating also add some intresting contrasting textures to the mix...the smooth salty peanut butter layer blends well the crunchyness of the wholenuts and this combination leaves a quite delicous aftertaste for a long time after.
As ever with Reese's product the chocolate isnt their strong point but this bar is really focusing on getting the nutty flavour through so this slight blemish can be excused.
Overall I was pleasently suprised by this. When I read that it was Reese's version of the Buterfinger I was worried the same overly sweet type experience awaited me, but this bar has such a distinctive nutty flavour. Yet another offering from Reese's which I highly reccomend.
