Cereal Info
A variation of the popular Froot Loops these were origanlly called Marshmallow-Blasted Froot Loops. As you can probably tell these take the usual Foot Loops but mixed up with fruit flavoured marshmallows. When they were first avalaible new marshmallows were introduced usually every year. It started out with Toucan Sam (we'll tell you about him later) marshmallows, followed by frogs, then number 2's (to celebrate the year 2000), then mummies, and finally sharks and piranhas. Froot Loops Marshmallow were rumoured to be discontinued in 2005 but this was not the case. They are still very much around and currently have fruit shaped and flavoured marshmallows.
Cereal Mascot
Name - Toucan Sam
Toucan Sam is the mascot of all the Froot Loops cereal brands. He is a blue cartoon toucan with a striped beak. When he was first introduced the colours on his beak represented the different flavours and colours in the froot loops cerel but since so many other colours have been introduced this is no longer true.
We really liked the following information but credit goes to Wikipedia - 'Biologically speaking, Toucan Sam appears to be a Keel-billed Toucan. Keel-billed Toucans are well-known for their colorful beaks and propensity for fruit in their diets, two features which are very consistent with the character.'
Like most cereal character Toucan Sam has his own sereis of cartoon commercials. In these commercials Toucan Sam eventually always locates a concealed bowl or box of the cereal with his catchphrase - "follow my nose! It always knows!".
