Sweetarts

Milk Duds

California Man, for those of you who have not seen it, is about a caveman frozen in his own time and discovered and defrosted in 90's California. The two friends who discover him name him 'Link' and introduce him to modern culture.

In one of the scenes Link is introduced to a Mini-Mart and the 4 basic food groups:

"Link you're probably used to eatin twigs, but here in the USA we have what you call the 4 basic food groups [Link picks up a banana] and Link this is not one of them. First group the dairy group, Milk Duds, you hide these under your pillow so your mum doesn't find them if she does you're tweaked bro. Second group, fruit group, Sweetarts, these are outrageously citrusy......."

Reese's Pieces
We're sure you remember the classic family film E.T. about a young boy (Elliot) and his friendship with an Alien. When Elliot tries to get E.T. to follow him home he leaves a trail of Reese's Pieces which E.T then follows.

Just click on the picture and you will be take straight to Reeses's Pieces -tasty and also good for getting Aliens to follow you.

Snocaps'Boy Meets World' followed Corey Matthews and Shaun Hunters journey through childhood to young adulthood. In numerous scenes of the show the Nestle candy Sno-Caps is referenced.

"Sno-Caps? Only the greatest movie snack ever made!"

              (Shaun Hunter - Season 5)

Kool Aid as you should all know is a very tasty powdered drink. As well as drinking it can also be used for tie-dying, strangley enough. Kool Aid's mascot is a big jug of the drink that uses the catchphrase "Oh Yeah!".

Family Guy is cartoon comedy centered around Peter Griffin and his family. The cartoon probably features the most references to food or anything else out there. Take a look at this clip from an episode.

In 1963, the first Cap’n Crunch commercials aired, featuring four children and the canine Sea Dog, who sailed with the Cap’n on his ship, The Good Ship Guppy. The crew was tasked with keeping the cereal safe from the Cap’n’s nemesis, Jean LeFoote, the Barefoot Pirate. The characters also appeared in a comic book included in Cap’n Crunch cereal boxes.

Count Chocula

Futurama should not have been cancelled! But that's just our opinion. In one of the epsiodes the gang are deciding on what cereal to have. As its been 1000 years Fry is informed after years of service Count Chocula is now Archduke Chocula (Cap N Crunch also got a promotion making Admiral Crunch).

Futurama is being brought back very soon on Comedy Central in America. Amazon will also be selling the DVDs very soon.

Fun Dip
The brilliant My Name is Earl follows Earl Hickey as he corrects all his wrong doings under the watchful eye of Karma.

In season one Earl is travelling on a coach when he is offered some Wonka Fun Dip. He accepts the offer from the girl and takes some Razzapple sherbet.

Nestle's Butterfingers use to use 'The Simpsons' to advertise their product. All the usual suspects featured in the adverts including Bart, Homer, Krusty and even the aliens. The adverts mainly revolved round someone trying to take Bart's Butterfinger which is where the  catchphrase  "No one better lay a finger on my finger!" came from. We have included one of the adverts below.

Chunk loves his Baby Ruth!Probably one of the greatest films of the 80's 'The Goonies' will be well known for its friendship between food loving Chunk and his odd but lovable friend Sloth.

The first time they meet the icebreaker of the friendship was their love of the Baby Ruth bar which is still avaliable today and also available on our site.

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!

Pixy StixThis was one of the most feel-good films of the 80's and also the birth of the original brat pack. The five unlikely members of TCap N Crunchhe Breakfast Club were brought together by Saturday detention only to discover they weren't as different as they first thought.

Its lunchtime and Ally Sheedy's character makes a sandwich of Cap N Crunch and Pixy Stix. We can't recommend this to you although on their own Cap N Crunch and Pixy Stix are fantastic products.

Friends followed six friends (surprisingly) through their 20's to early 30's. It was one of the longest running sitcoms in American history. After Monica and Chandler become engaged Joey leaves Ross a note to come and meet the gang to celebrate. Joey also sneaks in a little candy request:

Ross: I found a note on my door, "Come to Monica’s quick, bring champagne and a Three Musketeers bar."

Joey: (grabbing the candy bar) Yeah I’ll take that.

Reeses products originally had a slogan in their adverts where one person would say "You got chocolate in my peanut butter" and the other person would reply "You got peanut butter on my chocolate".  This has been referenced many times by all sorts of programmes including Saturday morning classic Pink & the Brain.

At the beginning of "A Pinky and the Brain Halloween", Pinky, who has been eating a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, falls onto Brain's transmitter and gets pieces of the chocolate on it, causing Brain to yell, "No! Pinky, you got chocolate on my Jacko-lantronic transmitter!" Pinky replies, "You got Jacko-lantronic transmitter on my chocolate! Yummy!"

Trix cereal has been around for a long time. Its advertising campaign has never changed and has always featured the Trix Rabbit as its mascot. In the adverts the Trix Rabbit was always told "Silly Rabbit! Trix are for kids." We feel this was a bit unfair considering the rabbit never really did any harm and after 47 years is probably very hungry.

You should already know what Family Guy is all about if you've read our Kool Aid reference so we won't explain it again. In an epsiode called 'Lets go to the Hop' Peter has gone back to school. He is on his way to the Library when he walks in on 'The Breakfast Club'. Only this one is quite different to the original.

This club consists of American Cereals finest mascots including - The Trix Rabbit, Toucan Sam of Froot Loops, Lucky of Lucky Charms and The Captain himself from Cap N Crunch!
